Jensen Beach real estate provides some of the most beautiful waterfront real
estate in South Florida. Across the Indian River via the Jensen Beach Causeway, Hutchinson Island is one of three
Barrier Islands which make up the Treasure
Coast. Jense Beach and Hutchinson Island are known for their beautiful sandy beaches and unsurpassed views of
the Atlantic Ocean. The popularity of Jensen Beach and Hutchinson Island are realized each year as "Snowbirds" from
the north flock to the island from November to April to bask in the warmth and sunshine which residents enjoy year round.
There are several luxury five star
resorts and hotels located along the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River shores of Hutchinson Island. The Indian River
Plantation Marriott Resort in Martin County is one of the most exceptional of these luxury resorts, where even locals
have been known to spend a getaway weekend.

Leisure time activities for Jensen Beach and Hutchinson Island are plentiful for
both residents and visitors. Among some of the favorite activities are the sightseeing cruises on the St. Lucie and Indian Rivers aboard
the Island Princess, which departs from Marriott's Indian River Plantation Marina. Beyond the resort and past Gilbert's Bar House
of Refuge Museum are single-family residences with magnificent waterway views of both the Indian River to the west and
the Atlantic to the east. The road winds its way to wonderful beaches, including the popular Bathtub Beach, and on to
the exclusive Sailfish Point luxury residential development. Continually changing exhibits and a remarkable antique
car collection at the island's Elliott Museum bring people back again and again, as do the displays at the Florida
Oceanographic Society Coastal Science Center located just across Route A1A, the island's only main artery. A1A, also
known as N.E. Ocean Blvd., becomes S. Ocean Drive as it reaches the St. Lucie County line, passing by hotels,
high-rise condominiums and homes. On the causeway at the island's northern end, the
St. Lucie County Historical Museum
offers a glimpse of the county's past history.
Across the inlet on North Hutchinson Island are the magnificent beaches and
outstanding Beach
Parks of St. Lucie County. Especially notable are the Fort Pierce Inlet State Recreation Area and nearby Jack Island.

The ocean harbors of Fort Pierce &
Stuart both have protected Inlets. The Stuart Inlet is just a short
distance away from Jensen Beach providing quick and easy access to the Atlantic Ocean and the area known as the
Sailfish Capital of the World. The neighboring inlet to the north, Fort Pierce, boasts the best fishing in Florida
right here on the Treasure Coast. Nearby attractions include the Harbor
Branch Oceanographic Institute, a Smithsonian
facility, the unique Underwater Demolition-Seal Museum
and the Manatee Center are popular attractions located in the Jensen Beach
and Fort Pierce areas. Disney World,
Sea World, Nasa Cape Kennedy Space Center & many other attractions in
the Orlando area are one and a half hours drive to the north while the West Palm Beach International Airport is a half
hour
to the south. Miami is one and a half hours drive to the south. Tampa Bay and Busch Gardens Animal Theme Park is about two and a half hours drive northwest of the
Treasure Coast. The Florida
Everglades National Park is located about two hours to the south.

Directly east of the Treasure Coast are the beautiful waters of the
Bahamas, only a few hours away by boat and
just a hop and a skip by plane. Aside from being a popular tourist destination, the
Bahamas provide excellent fishing,
particularly for world-class tuna and wahoo in the Gulf Stream which flows north between
the Treasure Coast and the Bahama Islands. The Bimini Islands, a famous sportfishing and tourist community
only fifty miles east of Miami in the Bahamas, is considered the
Game Fish Capital of the World. Key West and the Carribean Islands are just a short
flight from the Treasure Coast. Sport fishermen and charter boat captains of Fort Pierce and Stuart claim
that the ocean waters off the treasure coast between Florida and the Bahamas represent
"The Sailfish Capital of the World!" More sailfish are caught in this area of South Florida along the Treasure Coast
during the winter months than anywhere else in the world.
The southern tip of Hutchinson Island, immediately north of the Stuart inlet, is appropriately named Salfish Point.
Aside from providing world-class sportfishing and scuba diving, the South Florida Treasure Coast provides excellent
boating and treasure hunting opportunities. The Treasure Coast receives it's nick-name from the
Spanish fleets which wrecked in 1715 & 1733 depositing their sunken treasures along the eastern coast of Hutchinson
Island. For the recreational divers as well as the commercial divers, treasure hunting is a multi-million dollar industry
along the Treasure Coast.
